Letter from the Secretary

Dear Friends,

I have distributed Draft Minutes of the Inaugural Forum Meeting of what is now Hope4Chesterfield/Christians Together for Chesterfield (attached below).
They are going to a large number of people:

(i) to congregations and agencies that have indicated their intention to join the new body, (ii) to those who seem at present to be undecided and

(iii) (for information purposes) to those have indicated that they do not wish to join, at least at present.

Whoever you are, and whatever category you belong to, we offer the information in the Minutes in the hope that it is interesting to you.

Those who have indicated a desire to be subscribing members now receive a request for:

(i) the name of their representative, with full contact details (postal and email addresses and phone number(s), with the firm suggestion of an alternate/substitute person (this information to Paul King, please)

(ii) a request for the appropriate financial contribution -agreed in the Minutes - £50 for a ‘larger' church, £25 for a ‘smaller' one. Please let our treasurer, Jeff Kitts, have a cheque soon. It should still be made out to ‘Hope4Chesterfield' and sent to him at 46 Alexandra Road West, CHESTERFIELD S40 1NP. Do indicate clearly on whose behalf the cheque is sent, and an address for an acknowledgement.

Those who seem at present undecided are asked, please, to see whether, in the light of the first meeting's Minutes, you may like to decide now to join. You would be very welcome. Do you like what you are reading? If not, do kindly indicate whether you wish to remain in contact in some way we can agree on.

Those who have decided not to join are also asked if they wish to re-consider. But if the answer is still ‘No', then we also ask for an indication of whether any form of continuing contact is desired.

As you see, the 12-strong Enabling Group will be meeting on October 22nd. We would welcome your prayers for this fresh venture, and we would assure you of our prayers in return.

If there are any queries from any quarter, do make contact with me. This is a learning experience and a work in progress.

Yours sincerely,

Paul King (secretary)
